Unwind for the Weekend

After a busy week at work, there is nothing that I look forward to more than Friday night. It is my favourite part of the weekend where I can leave my troubles at the desk and hotfoot it home to a weekend full of potential. Here are my top tips to unwind for the weekend:
1. Draw a good bath and pamper
I'm a huge fan of a Friday night bath, I often drop into LUSH at the station and pick up a bathbomb, my most recent favourite being the yummy Phoenix, a purple bomb with a green core which smells like cinnamon. It has cocoa and shea butters to keep skin soft, and is perfect for the weekend. My other wekeend favourites include a good hair mask, feet moisturiser and taking my makeup properly off (if I'm not going out I never wear makeup!) Light some candles, grab a book and run a deep bath. Sink back in and wash your weekday worries away!

2. De-screen
We all hear the recommendations about unplugging for the weekend. I'm not sure that I could go a whole weekend without Instagram, but reading a good book before bed instead of scouring through Twitter and watching the new season of GIRLS will help you sleep better- we promise!

3. List Your Life
If things are playing on my mind, I find nothing more satisfying than pouring it out onto a piece of paper to note down everything that needs doing. That way, it can stay out of your mind until you need to address it. Investing in a cute notebook will be a good incentive to jot things down.

4. Candles Candles
There is something so satisfying about burning a yummy candle. The ambiance is infectious, and rumour has it that Madonna requested candles be lit in her BRIT awards dressing room 12 hours in advance. We love candles from Ted Baker for their incredible quality and scented (but not over powering) smell.
5. Treat Yourself
Be it checking out that ASOS basket, a mid-month mani or a giant bar of Dairy Milk- Friday is definitely the day you can justify spoiling yourself just a little- hooray you made it to the end of the week!
