Beauty | The Parlour, London Blow Dry Review

Happy Friday readers! In all our fizzy excitement before the Company Style Blogger Awards 2014, we were lucky enough to go to the Parlour in Chiswick for a blow dry bar to make sure our locks weren't letting us down for the night!

Our lovely stylists Victoria and Jade welcomed us into The Parlour, which is beautifully decorated in hues of mint green, white and pink with lots of vintage references - anywhere with an Audrey Hepburn print is pretty sold to us! We were then asked if we'd like a champagne cocktail (is the answer ever no to that question?), which were so girly we almost had a little dance - a choice of floral bellinis including Rose, Lavender and Jasmine as well as the classic Peach.

No sooner had we had our first sip and we were whisked off to have our hair washed - always a pampering experience - and taken back to our cocktails (we missed you!) and asked what we were looking for. Lauren fancied a half-up half-down beehive style, whilst I with my crazy halfway-growing-out bob just wanted lots of volume!

All credit goes to our stylists here because they just went for it - no long list of questions, they asked what we wanted and they just did it - they completely got what we were looking for, and all in half an hour. Pretty magical, huh?

The Parlour offer a range of blow dry styles as well as vintage inspired 'dos and stunning braids (the latter of course would be amazing and completely on trend pre-festival or pre-wedding - and would no doubt last the whole weekend)!

The whole styling experience took less than half an hour - yes really - but by the time we were finished, we'd had two cocktails, a slice of cake (local bakery Victoria Sponge, a lovely touch and bonus points for local/homemade!) and as I think you'll agree we just looked ten times better.

After a quick change into our Style Blogger Awards outfits (more on those tomorrow), we walked out feeling a million dollars. The whole process was quick without feeling rushed, and we were told to relax and enjoy our drinks and cake for as long as we wanted once our styling was complete.

Neither of us are that bad at wielding a make up brush, but hair is a different story - both of us have a lot of dead straight, fairly fine hair and crave volume, so getting a proper blow dry was a perfect experience for both of us. So would we recommend The Parlour? Without a shadow of a doubt - it was amazing. Better still, there's absolutely no way that we're not rebooking for our next event. I am writing this on the third day post-styling, and my bob is rocking - bouncy, big and beautiful. We are smitten.

Bombshell blowouts are £30 each, and braids and updos start at £20 or £45 if you're having a wash and blow-dry too. We thought the whole experience was ideal before an event or for a more refined hen or birthday party, but honestly any special occasion would be worthy of the service.
