Travel | A Roman Holiday Part 3

After vintage shopping, we went and got a beast of a lunch at the Full Monti, a cafe on Piazza della Madonna dei Monti. Lauren had salmon and Felicity went for the ultimate in stinky cheese, gorgonzola, which was melt in the mouth excellence.

We sat on the fountain steps and felt like we were the luckiest girls to grab a last breath of Summer before decamping back to the UK.

Sunday afternoon was a wander around the colosseum and surrounding areas, breathing in the spectacular history of the place and taking as many pictures as possible before returning to Campo di Fiori for dinner.

We had to do pizza, right? Of course we did. Felicity had her favourite Napoletana (classically just tomato, no cheese - try it, honestly it’s amazing - with anchovies and capers. Delicious) and Lauren went for cheese and prosciutto. It was, as pizza is in Italy, truly fantastic and we ate it too eagerly to snap it. Oops.

After that, we just about squeezed in some more gelato and curled up in bed with Audrey Hepburn’s Roman Holiday. The perfect end to a wonderful weekend in Rome.

Have you been to Rome? Any tips for our next trip?
