We got to V just after 10am, and checked into the Louder Lounge reception for our wristbands and passes (how glittery? We got a bit overexcited at that...!)
We pitched our teeny two man tent (more like one girl one bag!) or Lauren did... I (Felicity), a self confessed lover of the great outdoors, keen hiker and 10 year strong girl Guider failed magnificently, whereas first time happy camper Lauren worked it out in two minutes. Ahem. Moving on!
We trekked off to the Louder Lounge, which wasn't open yet, so we decamped to the beauty tent to get our eyebrows shaped to perfection and get our flutter on with some Eylure falsies, which were nice and dramatic for our festival faces!
As soon as the gates opened, we poured in with the other Louder Lounge-goers and did a recce of our surroundings. Lauren made a beeline for a sun lounger (classic) whereas I, big kid that I am, headed straight for the inflatables...!
Our passes gave us lunch, dinner and an 'afternoon treat' so we got stuck into Le Bun (with pulled confit duck and BBQ beef, was incredibly yum, as you might expect), and drinks were almost all gratis too, so we got our G & T on. Yes sir.
We did a fair bit of running about doing our best not to miss our favourite bands - our particular highlighters were Kodaline, the magnificent trousersnake Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, Paolo Nutini and The Killers, with our festival crown going to the Kaiser Chiefs. We were still on a huge high an hour after their set - amazing scenes!
