It is officially wedding season! This year (and next) and wedding obsessed for us, with mine (Felicity’s) in December and Lauren’s in the latter half of next year. We’ve both got a few weddings to go to this summer and were thinking about how you’d dress for a day wedding (anyone else love an afternoon tea wedding breakfast?) or if you received an evening invite (in which case, all glam?).
Let’s start with the day – white is a no-no, but if you’re rocking something a little more smart-casual with a colourful separate, we say it’s a do. Lauren’s tiffany blue pleated skirt has just the right amount of swoosh for dancing, whilst the jacket smartens up the look. This Boden one is so versatile and the material hangs beautifully – a real wardrobe staple. These gorgeous cut-out leather wedges from Moda in Pelle are summer perfect too – more on those soon…!
I went for the evening invite look. As much as I love the gesture of a full day invite, evening invites are so fun – you can really dress up and go for a bolder make up look, too. I styled one of my favourite dresses, a dip hem colourblock maxi from Anthropologie, with a fuchsia lip and a pair of stunning gold suede courts from Moda in Pelle. I really love that high-low styling too, so went for a messy plait to keep it modern. It’s the little things…!
