Angelina's Chocolat Chaud

paris in october, autumn leaves
I love Paris in the Spring time, I love Paris in the fall... how does it go? In light of the terrible tragedies in Paris (and let's face it, across the world over the past year), I wanted to highlight a lovely experience in the city of lights just a few weeks ago. So we went to Disney on the first day, had Autumnal strolls in the city the next, then went home. But after two years of it being on my 'list', I finally ticket off Angelina's.

The queue, as foretold by all and sundry on the internet, was stupidly long and we queued for a while but decided halfway through to go for a takeaway option, as a beautifully dressed waitress came out to serve the famous chocolat chaud 'to go'. Prices were €8.20 to have in (no service charge) and €4.90 to go, and as it was such a stunningly gorgeous Autumn day (and Jardin des Tuileries is just across the street), we went for it.

Was it worth it? It was worth every single cent. Easily, by far and away, the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted. Thick, rich, delicious and just enough to be completely satisfied - or perhaps, a little too satisfied (honestly, go hungry) - but not enough to be sickly. Divine. I'll be returning to sample it again, perhaps inside the golden doors this time. They do a white hot chocolate too...

Anyone else sampled the delights of Angelina's?
