Burberry Beauty SS16

If you, like us, spent LFW holed up on the sofa with a cup of tea in one hand and a laptop streaming the shows in the other, you can't have missed the incredible looks from the Burberry Prorsum SS16 show.

As well as a another season of incredible tailoring and cuts, beautiful neutrals and stunningly eye catching prints, we were utterly wowed by how Burberry had created such stunning makeup looks on the models.

The looks were very paired back with a combination of either a very nude complexion, lip and lightly smokey eye or a brown eyeliner look with a rich and powerful dark rose lip. The most interesting part of the look was the lack of mascara or colour on the cheek- something which are our bare essentials on any day!
Burberry asked us to have a go at recreating the looks at home, using some of their beautiful products. We opted for one look each, Felicity sticking to the bold lip that she knows and loves and Lauren having a go at the beautiful smokey eye...

Products for the look:

The BB cream provides the perfect dewy base for this look. It's really easy to apply and a blends really well. We applied a little highlighted to the cheeks too to eliminate dull skin and boost the dewiness! The brown eyeshadow was lightly  applied to the eyelash line, with gold lining the top crease and winging out for the edge. The brown shadow is highly pigmented and the colour payoff is great- the perfect smokey eye partner! The Elderberry pencil was then applied along the waterline- such a stunning transeasonal shade! Finally the lip, we actually blended some of the elderberry eyeliner with the lipgloss to bring a stronger colour out and it looks fantastic!
Love this look. Whilst it's bold to not wear mascara, the colourful lip suited Felicity down the the ground. The elderberry eye pencil was the perfect shade and texture, and the lipgloss was a gorgeous shade for spring.

Starting with a really good solid base is essential for this look, as there is no overpowering detail feature to distract, the complexion must be utterly flawless! I blended the cashmere foundation in using a foundation brush, using concealer to cover any additional blemishes and a powder to seal it. A little goes a long way as the foundation gives a really good medium to heavy coverage. The eyes have been created using the beautifully shimmer gold shadow on the upper crease and then the chestnut brown kohl across the top lid only, softening the line with a brush or a fingertip. Finally, nude lipstick was applied, topped with the coral rose lip balm for a 'your lips but better' slightly on the paler side.
Product used to create the looks:

We give this look a big thumbs up too, really easy to create at home, and utterly in love with the eye products in particular!
