It is no secret that we are huge brand fans of Hotel Chocolat, so when the Christmas range preview invitation arrived in our inbox, we drew out our shiniest Christmas pens to etch the date into our diaries.
Held at their Seven Dials Covent Garden store, we headed down on the rainiest evening ever to test out some beautiful festive treats. The store was jammed with other people keen to see (and taste!) the new Christmas range from Hotel Chocolat.
The favourite advent calendars are back including the
Advent Calendar for Two featuring two baby truffles for each day (perfect for couples and over indulgence). The style across the range is classic and traditional with golds, whites and reds being prominent for the advent range, as well as the other pieces in the collections. We were lucky enough to receive an Advent Calendar for Two in the amazing goody bag, something which we are keeping from our boyfriends for now...
There are lots of lovely stocking fillers this year including some really beautifully decorated mini slabs-
A Christmas Tweet and
Christmas Jumper and the adorable
Tiddly Penguins. All for under £10, we spied lots of beautiful things to treat our loved ones!
If you're splashing out, there is a huge array of beautiful choices. The selection boxes emulate the classic, tradtional style of the advent calendars and for just £5, you can create a Hotel Chocolat hamper of any size along with the total cost of the goodies held within. Our favourites include the
Sleekster Winter Desserts Luxury Selection and the amazing layered (but easy to break up)
Christmas Truffle Tree.
We must also mention that Hotel Chocolat offer some fab experiences across a wide range of venues including their
Bean to Bar experience, which shows attendees how Hotel Chocolat make their chocolate from scratch. We got to see some of this in action, and were really enthused by how passionate the staff were- our Dads would love this. They also have some beautiful foodie and beauty gifts which are to die for! Finally, the fabulous restaurants,
Roast + Conch in Leeds and
Rabot 1745 in London, both offering a fabulous experience of cocao cuisine- the ultimate indulgence for chocolate lovers!
As usual, the Hotel Chocolat team were hospitable, welcoming and friendly including the lovely Beau-Jane, Megan and Teresa. We also love catching up with Hotel Chocolat co-founder Angus Thirwell who has such passion and involvement in every element of the business. He told us all about the development of the 2014 Christmas range and how he designed the festive wreath!
