What We Did | 21st - 27th June

Birthday Girl
Felicity
This week I turned 25! It was my birthday on Monday, and as I'm a twin, I always look forward to birthdays. Sharing them makes it so special, and every single one we've spent together (it's becoming a tradition). I was so spoilt, as usual, and received some gorgeous presents from my boyfriend, family and friends. You may have already seen the Daniel Wellington watch on instagram from my boyfriend... I also got the books I asked for, a Cath Kidston dress from my parents, an Aspinal of London purse, some money, a new bag from my brother... Crazy spoilt, right?!

Lauren was very naughty and bought me a Kate Spade bangle as well as a candle and more books. Lucky lucky. It was such a good day. My Mum and I made our version of funfetti cupcakes, which were really just sponge cupcakes with vanilla icing and loads of sprinkles inside and out. They were really tasty, and made us think that we should probably bake a little more...!
I was poorly halfway through the week which wasn't so fun (too much birthday excitement and too much food may be something to do with it), so I spent Wednesday bed-bound, but tomorrow I'll be at Goodwood Festival of Speed (Sunday 28th)! My boyfriend absolutely adores cars of any description, and I have to admit that in the 5 1/2 years we've been together, I've grown rather fond of them too. I'll be dressed up and hoping for sunshine...

Evenings Out

Last weekend I was lucky enough to make my way back to Kent for a concert outing with my family. We headed to the local pinetum at Bedgbury Forest for Paloma Faith- one of my family's favourites! Paloma looked smokin hot, dressed in a modest, midi dress with plenty of stretch and cute electric blue shoes with an electric blue hair ribbon to match. I just love how much this girl doesn't give a damn about what people think of her dress sense and she has such a developed sense of personal style.
Her band and backing singers were also dressed in a bright navy shade which looked effortlessly cool and complimented her look perfectly. Her onstage nattering was hilarious albeit a little post-watershed but her fab personality shines through. Despite it chucking it down - I mean- soaked the to bone- throughout the really talented Liam Bailey on support act, we had such a brilliant night. Paloma was great and there are few acts with the talent to appeal to so many generations as she does! Her voice is out of this world (nothing worse than finding out your favourite act is only good when studio produced!!!) and her dancing and lyrics are spot on too!
If you aren't familiar with her music, go check her out- I'd describe her as funky yet soulful, there's a lot of fun and laughter in her lyrics but she also sings from her soul (I know that sounds chheeeeeasay but it's true!) All proceeds for the concert go towards conservation of the beautiful forests around the UK so it's a cause worth going for!

Press Events

This week I flew solo at the Hearst reader event that Elle, Red and Cosmo we're hosting with Colgate for the new launch- Colgate Max White Expert WhiteTM. Held at the beautiful One Horseguards, Lisa Snowdon welcomed readers and bloggers to the event on a stunning warm evening.
The new toothpaste will feature in our July Beauty Faves with a special new twist (keep an eye out for that!) but it is the first in the UK to contain 0.1% hydrogen peroxide which works to remove stains not only on the surface of your teeth, but with prolonged use, beneath the enamel too! More on that in July! I also picked up some fab makeup tips from make up artist to the stars Amanda Grossman who helped me with a few tips on how to make my teeth stand out by dealing with my biggest makeup complaint- terrible skin! Amanda showed me how to take the redness out of my face with a two toned concealer and then a cream blush which would whiten my smile and with a dash of red lipstick, give me a fab look for summer.
The venue had a fab terrace which was perfect for a pic with Lisa too who happens to be the loveliest famous face ever!

See you next week!
