October Skin Saviours

With a kick start of healthy living as we drive towards Christmas, October was all about skin for us, we've found some stunning products, so sit tight and get stuck in!

1. Teatox
So let's start with detoxing skin from the inside. We adore tea of all kind, and have been curious about all of the blog and instagram hype around Teatoxing. When we heard from TeaTox about their beautiful tins, we quickly selected a Skinny Teatox and Beauty Teatox and got our 14 day TeaTox underway.

The teas were loose leaf, and very pretty. Easy to use if you have a strainer or a tea ball, with one for morning and one for the evening. How did we feel after 14 days, skinnier, more beautiful? Certainly healthier and more hydrated (upping your milk free tea intake will do that...) We'd be curious to try other TeaTox drinks (and hear from you if you have teatoxed, get in touch)!

2. Sudocrem Skin Care Cream
Some products really stand the test of time and there is one which we have been using for 25 years now which still ticks the right boxes, although we are learning to use it on different parts of our body... Sudocrem! ;) Traditionally sold as a nappy cream for babies to soothe sore and rashy tooshies, Sudocrem has fast become a skincare staple which I have been recommending to people for YEARS. Both Felicity and I have sore and break-out-prone skin, and I always reach for a combination of Sudocrem and Savlon when I feel a breakout on the way.

Even better is that it is no longer just a giant tub for Mummas to get their hands on quickly, the genuis team at Sudocrem have created a 30g Sudocrem tube which you can get your hands on for around £2. Easy squeezy!

3. Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap
Now for skin on the outside. I touched on this wonder product in the Skin Brush review we recently posted. After trialling a skin brush for the first time, I found that my current facewash wasn't quite soft enough to use with the brush. I turned to one of my favourite skincare brands for a solution, enter Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap, £16.50.

Soft, super foaming and seemingly (so far) helping the brush to really deep clean my skin and rid of the blemishes, I'm really impressed so far. It's a good basic for anyone who has invested in a skin brush.

4. Smashbox BB water
In winter my skin can feel really suffocated and there are days when I really don't want full coverage, but still want something to give me a bit of a glow. BB Water from Smashbox provides the perfect solution- a really light, really milky and not thick fluid foundation. Its a primer, coverage and hydrating- the perfect makeup bag partner!

We were both really impressed with how a little goes a long way with this, and how it feels almost moisturising without being greasy- light and hydrating. The coverage is also great, when used with a concealer, its perfect for those 'suffocated' days. Smashbox BB water is £29 and comes in eight shades.

5. theBalm Manizer Sisters
Now for making skin pretty! Last month we attended the super swish launch of theBalm, a brand much spoken about in the blogging world, and now launching in Debenhams stores. We heard from Marissa Shipman, brand founder, who filled the evening with funny and entertaining anecdotes about how the brand was conceived, and how it has developed to become the way it is today.

Whilst there we caught up with the ever lovely Em from My Pale Skin, and chatted about our love for one product in particular, the Mary Lou Manizer, a shimmery, light highlighter which is super easy to apply and not overly shiny.

We adore this palette of Manizer Sisters, the classic Mary Lou highlighter, as well as a bronzer and a contour- a must have for Christmas lists of good girls!

5. Vince Camuto
Now we've talked about doing good by skin both inside and in, but what about skin that smells good? I flew solo at the launch of Vince Camuto perfume for both men and women. Held in their adorable Kensington High Street store, which was perfectly dressed for the occasion, I was able to mingle and enjoy the 3 new ladies and 3 new mens fragrances launching.

All perfectly Italian in their name, (Fiori, Bella and Amore) the ladies fragrances were all light and floral. My absolute favourite had to be Fiori which smelled like violets. These stunning fragrances are launching in Debenhams and on their website, and come in beautiful gift sets too, perfect for Christmas!
