Wedding Wednesday | Let's Talk Budget

Let's be un-British, and let's talk money. Here's the thing - I was never going to be the girl to drop it on one day (I love weddings as much as the next girl, but come on). The most common number I hear bandied about is £20k, and I can categorically assure you that I will not be spending that on my wedding. In fact, I'll do my level best to make sure I don't come higher than half of that. I just don't think it's necessary, and more to the point, I don't have that kind of cash to splash.

Think of it this way - if you won the lottery, not the jackpot but, say, £20k, would you turn around to your other half and say "Bloody hell, wouldn't it be a fantastic idea to blow this on one day?"

I didn't think so.

The way I see it, the following things make it the best day of your life.

#1 ALL YOUR FAVOURITE PEOPLE ARE IN THE SAME ROOM 

There are two life events that tends to occur, and you tend to be present for one, so enjoy it!

#2 YOU GET TO BE SOPPY ABOUT YOUR NO.1 FAVOURITE PERSON

And no one can say anything about it.

#3 YOU GET TO ACT LIKE A TOTAL DIVA

And no one can say anything about it. 

You basically get to be Beyoncé for the day.

#4 DITTO WEARING AN AMAZING DRESS

Am I hitting on to a theme yet? Because no one can say anything about it. 

It's my wedding and I'll tulle if I want to.

#5 CAKE, DRINKING AND DANCING

All in exorbitant amounts. What's not to love?

So chin chin, here's to being a 'budget' bride (and rocking that tag and proving you don't need to spend big bucks). Pass the champagne - or shall I say prossecco? It's all bubbles to me...
