A Day in Cambridge

afternoon tease cambridge brunch
A few weeks ago we spent a lovely day in Cambridge after a much longed for weekend together to talk boyfriends, best friend chat and all things blog! It was great to wander round for the day and try out a few suggestions from Cambridge bloggers on Twitter (special thanks to Jessica in Your Ear and Deepa from Food Mela for the recommendations)!

Our first stop was Afternoon Tease for brunch - we both had poached eggs and bacon on sourdough toast, and it was absolutely scrumptious.

We were seriously naughty and shared a slice of Earl Grey cake too alongside our usual pot of Earl Grey tea, and lord oh lord was this sublime. We can't recommend it enough. If you're local and you haven't been - go!

We wandered around the older parts (as well as shopping a bit - duh), exploring churches and any college buildings/gardens that were open. It was wonderful to walk along the river (with a nutella crepe, which is such a great accompaniment to cold days) and check out the incredible history and architecture of the area, as well as catching some people punting down the river.

It was lovely to not have any pressure to see things, and just really take in the atmosphere of the place - there was still so much to see after only a day, and we both decided it was a place we hadn't got enough of. Cambridge, we'll be back!

Any tips for our return trip?
